Sharing Thanks for "The Piano Guys" Christmas Music Magic

I am thankful for seeing this Piano Guys playful video of  "Angels We Have Heard on High." These vibrant  classical musicians are using their talents to inspire young musicians. There is also something magical about the inside of a piano! One of my favorite parts of Christmas is the music it has inspired! As a kid a loved going caroling. Singing outside with a group of family friends warmed my soul. This week seems all about music to me so here are my musical thanks!
  1. Thanks to my violin piano student Irina! She actually introduced me to the Piano Guys a few months ago. She is a 9th grader and loves watching the classical music videos they make. I am thankful that Piano Guys is creating excitement for classical music to a new generation!
  2. I am thankful for the South Shore Symphony Orchestra. We are performing the Nutcracker with the Leggs Ltd. Dance ballet company this weekend. I love immersing myself in the music of the Nutcracker for two weeks. This community event in Rockville Centre has been presented every year for the past decade. It is graced by some wonderful professional dance performances and features adorable talented kids. Dancing pandas never gets old for me.
  3. I am thankful to NBC for its "Sound of Music - Live" broadcast. Bringing musicals back to television in a big way. It is fun that this was filled at a film studio on Long Island! I remember the televised production of "Cinderella" as a child. It was always one of my favorite things to watch.
  4. I am thankful to my parents who nourished my love of music. They encouraged me by giving me violin and piano lessons. By buying an upright piano and allowing me to practice instead of doing the dishes after dinner.
I invite you to share something musical your thankful for! What's your favorite Christmas carol? I love "Silver Bells!"

  1. How wonderful that a young person is so excited about music! I do love the Christmas music this time of year, but it's so hard to choose. I love Carol of the Bells, Do You Hear What I Hear? and We Three Kings. Of course, I do love some Mariah Carey Christmas Album too!
