Monarch Butterfly in the Adirondacks |
I enjoyed spending time visiting my parents up in the Adirondacks the past few days. Saw lots of beautiful monarch butterflies feeding on the local butterfly bushes. I was able to capture this picture before the butterfly took flight! I love to watch the wildlife upstate. On this trip I was able to see butterflies, hummingbirds, a fox, and 3 loons on two different lakes! I will be posting some pictures from my trip throughout the week. It is wonderful to kick back and relax during the last few weeks of summer. So much to appreciate!
- Giving my parents a big thanks for being wonderful hosts. They made us a homemade chicken dinner and we got to meet some of their friends. They treated us to the Lake George Dinner Theater where we saw The Love List a romantic comedy that had us howling with laughter! I really admire my parents. They are thriving in their mid seventies! I think they are more active then some of my friends.
- I was grateful to see my good friends Stella, Scott and Margaret. We enjoyed gathering to see Stella's son Jeffrey who is an amazing timpanist perform at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. My daughter Liz enjoyed catching up with Jeff, David and Grace. The summer high school orchestra was superb! We also were treated to the hearing a trombone concerto performed by the principal trombonist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. The best moment was Jeff's timpani solo during the Shostokovich Symphony!
- Thanks to Stella and Scott who treated us all to dinner at this wonderful Italian Restaurant after the concert. Mama Mia had an awesome bakery as well. The chocolate cupcake my daughter ordered was delicious.
- I am thankful to spend some quality time with my daughter Liz in the country. I am going to share more of the wonderful moments of our vacation over the next few days.
I also want to wish my daughter Becky a great junior year in college! I was grateful that my husband helped move her back to campus. They got spend some quality time going to a Pirate's game. I miss her and I am happy that she loves college and is enjoying her undergraduate studies. I love hearing what you are thankful for! It is easy to share a gratitude in the comments!
