Sharing thanks for those Silver Linings!

Winter Sunset. Love the fiery orange colors!
I loved "Silver Linings Playbook". I am rooting for it to win some awards at the Academy awards! It is a wonderful honest movie about coping with bi-polar mental illness. I believe there is a gratitude lesson that would be helpful to everyone. It is easy to be grateful for the good things in life, it takes a wider outlook to try to see the silver linings in life's difficulties! Sometimes things are not always what they appear to be. Difficulties can offer opportunities to grow and change if we can flip they way you view them! Here is what I am thankful today!
  1. I am so thankful for my 2008 Honda EX! Just last week I thought the car's engine was gone.  A local mechanic told us that it could be a $7,000. repair. This lead me to see a new car dealer to see if it might be wiser to get a new car. This helped me to talk to my husband and we came up with a plan together. We decided to take it to the Honda Dealer! Low and behold the Honda Dealer was able to fix the car for a more reasonable $1,700. My cool blue van is driving like a new car! The silver linings were working out a successful plan with my husband!
  2. I was thankful for some traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike. When the traffic hit we decided to get off at an exit and found a great pizzeria in the quaint town of Cranbury. After recharging and heading back to an exit south of where we got off the Turnpike was traffic free! The silver lining, a lovely dinner instead at stopping at the thruway rest stop!
  3. Thanks to my nephew Nick who hosted us in Philadelphia. We enjoyed seeing his office! It is so well designed and they have found a way to make it playful by having a cool foosball table! We went down for Liz's portfolio review at University of the Arts!
  4. Thanks to Nick, Andy and Kailyn for watching Liz's movies before her interview and giving her such positive feedback and confidence.
I invite you to share a gratitude that was a silver lining from a difficulty. I enjoy hearing what you are grateful for!
