Me and my great friends saw Kinky Boots!
I am truly blessed to have wonderful girl friends! I have known Margaret and Stella since I moved to Rockville Centre in the third grade. We love to celebrate our birthday's together. We wished Stella a happy birthday by seeing "Kinky Boots" on Broadway. It is a fun show with beautiful music and a wonderful message, "To accept people for who they are!" Here is what I am thankful for.
  1. It is hard to be thankful amidst the natural disasters we are seeing. What stands out in troubled times, is the humanity that comes through by the outpouring of help and kindness. My heart goes out to Moore, Oklahoma. I texted Redcross to 90999 to donate $10 to help. It's easy to do. I was thankful to be able to help in some small way.
  2. I am thankful for my childhood friends Margaret and Stella. These women have stood by me through thick and thin. I am fortunate to call them my friends. Old friends do not judge you and they embrace and know your past. We love to celebrate our joys!
  3. Today is National music day! I love music. I am thankful for being in the South Shore Symphony. I am also thankful to all of my wonderful music students. I am so proud of the efforts they put in on their NYSSMA solos! Congratulations to Sam who is going to be inducted into the Music honor society because she got an A on her NYSMMA solo!
  4. I was thankful for opening windows yesterday. It was a humid day hear and it was nice to feel the cool evening breezes that came through the window to cool things off.

Create a Sharing Thanks Journal with someone to cultivate a Grateful Heart

    I am very thankful for this very special Christmas gift given to me by my daughter Liz. She made me a Sharing Thanks Journal. I love her heart design and the picture of us she printed to adorn the inside of this very special journal. The best gift of all was that we used the journal together to practice gratitude. She wrote the first entry listing four things she was thankful for and passed the journal back to me. We use the journal to share what we are thankful for. It has helped me practice gratitude and has helped me and my daughter connect on a deeper level. It is wonderful to have a dialogue where we share our blessings. I love writing my thanks and sharing what brings me joy. It could be a beautiful sunset, or a kind smile a stranger gave me. I love learning about what my daughter is thankful for. Thankful for Chihuly's impressionistic water reflections at New York Botanical Gardens

I love sharing beautiful spaces with fellow friends who appreciate the impact of art fused with nature. So thankful to my friend Liz who invited me to go see the current Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens. I loved how Chihuly's pieces enhanced the beauty of the main greenhouse exhibits. We were blessed with a crisp fall day with blue skies. I took this video to capture the wave of colors undulating that looked like painter's brush strokes in the water. Below is the glass work that made these beautiful reflections. If you live in the New York area I recommend you go to the New York Botanical Gardens to enjoy this artist's brilliant work. The NYBG also has some fun fall displays. My friend and I enjoyed posing with pumpkin man.
