Sharing thanks for Loon Lake

My dad, taking us for a boat ride on Loon Lake!
I realized I have been blogging a lot about being by the water. I guess that makes sense since I am an Aquarius. Loon Lake in the Adirondacks is one of my favorite places to boat, swim, kayak, and jump off the dock to feel like I'm 11 again. My daughter Becky wanted to spend sometime upstate since she missed our July 4th outing. I enjoyed another girls only road trip up to the Adirondacks. Here is what I was thankful for!
  1. Thanks to my parents who watched my dog Oreo for us while we were in Chicago. Oreo liked the freedom of running around their 1 acre mowed yard at the country house. I am sure my parents cats, Beauty and Mittens were happy to see Oreo go home!
  2. Thanks to my parents for taking us out to the Stony Creek Inn for some music and Mexican food. One of the great things about living in the Adirondacks is all the great free live music that you can see. We enjoyed listening to a great blues band the John Heely Band. It is fun to see all ages enjoying a Sunday night out. We saw old couples dancing, families enjoying dinner. My daughter enjoyed playing pool in a pick-up game.
  3. Thanks to my Dad who took us for a boat ride at Loon Lake. Becky loves to water ski! It was fun to see her pop up out of the water and cruise around the lake, full smile, waving with excitement. She successfully dropped a ski and slalomed on one ski during her last run. Then we beached the boat, and had a picnic and swim at Loon Lake Public Beach.
  4. I was thankful for some cool fresh air at night. It is such a pleasure to sleep with windows open, hear the soothing sounds of the stream instead of the buzz of my air conditioner. It had been a very hot week at home on Long Island so it was great to enjoy some cooler temperatures in the North Country!
I invite you to share something your thankful for this summer. I love hearing your gratitude stories. Expressing and sharing gratitude sends ripples of kindness out to the world.
