Sharing thanks for a movie matinee: "Now You See Me"

I love the summer because there are so many great movies to see. Is there any better way to beat the summer heat by sitting in a cool movie theater watching a film about magic! I love going to a matinee with my daughters who love film, and are pursuing careers in the film industry. Here is what I was thankful for.
  1. Thankful to go the matinee with Becky, Liz and Monesha to see "Now You See Me" We all got swept away with the magic and the great plot twists.
  2. Thankful to the girls pine over Dave Franco in the movie. The film has a wonderful cast. I love Mark Ruffalo myself. Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, and Michael Caine are all terrific. We loved the magic fight scene!
  3. Enjoyed meeting my friend Liz in Huntington for some shopping and lunch. We love getting together and sharing our triumphs and bumps in the road. We had a good laugh, enjoyed a glass of wine and a delicious Italian lunch. I have been trying new things. Ordering something different off the menu. Being adventurous is fun.
  4. I am thankful for the Book Review in Huntington. It is one of the few great book stores still open on Long Island. Guy Fieri was recently there and they had some leftover wristbands they were giving away. I love browsing finding new interesting things to read. They also have a great greeting cards, and a lovely coffee shop.

    I'm very thankful that I was able to publish my book, The Basement. Many people dream of writing a book, but they never get around to doing it. I was able to realize my dream of writing a book and getting it published. I'm very grateful for this achievement. :D

Create a Sharing Thanks Journal with someone to cultivate a Grateful Heart

    I am very thankful for this very special Christmas gift given to me by my daughter Liz. She made me a Sharing Thanks Journal. I love her heart design and the picture of us she printed to adorn the inside of this very special journal. The best gift of all was that we used the journal together to practice gratitude. She wrote the first entry listing four things she was thankful for and passed the journal back to me. We use the journal to share what we are thankful for. It has helped me practice gratitude and has helped me and my daughter connect on a deeper level. It is wonderful to have a dialogue where we share our blessings. I love writing my thanks and sharing what brings me joy. It could be a beautiful sunset, or a kind smile a stranger gave me. I love learning about what my daughter is thankful for. Thankful for Chihuly's impressionistic water reflections at New York Botanical Gardens

I love sharing beautiful spaces with fellow friends who appreciate the impact of art fused with nature. So thankful to my friend Liz who invited me to go see the current Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens. I loved how Chihuly's pieces enhanced the beauty of the main greenhouse exhibits. We were blessed with a crisp fall day with blue skies. I took this video to capture the wave of colors undulating that looked like painter's brush strokes in the water. Below is the glass work that made these beautiful reflections. If you live in the New York area I recommend you go to the New York Botanical Gardens to enjoy this artist's brilliant work. The NYBG also has some fun fall displays. My friend and I enjoyed posing with pumpkin man.
