Happy February! I love taking pictures of hearts. February is a perfect month to celebrate love. I thought it would be fun to share some heart pictures I have taken this year. Looking at these heart pictures brings me joy! I also have a Pinterest Board called  Hearts. I always have fun this time of year finding hearts that make me smile. I am always thankful for the love in my life! Love from nurturing parents, romantic love, loving my daughters, unconditional love from loyal pets, love from friendships. When you perform a loving act it generates warmth that you feel deep down in your heart!

  1. I was so thankful to get a lovely phone call from my daughter Becky! She called to tell me about a new piece of music that they are doing in her concert band that has a soprano part. It was wonderful to hear her so excited about all of her classes this semester. Love that she is taking a Jazz dance class.
  2. I am thankful that my husband is recovering well from his surgery! Everyday he is walking better and he was so joyful to be able to take a shower this morning. It's the little things.
  3. It was so much fun picking up Kavita from school yesterday! It was nice seeing her smile and giving her a ride home and listening to One Direction in the car. Liz and Kavita had fun singing along to one of their favorite bands.
  4. I am thankful for my part-time job at the Burt School of Music. I have 15 violin and piano students. I love coaching them to help them become better musicians.

    I am thankful for my Mom it was her birthday yesterday. She is in pretty good health and am so thankful. It's funny but as I get older I become more aware of how much I need my mother and appreciate all she has taught me.

Create a Sharing Thanks Journal with someone to cultivate a Grateful Heart

    I am very thankful for this very special Christmas gift given to me by my daughter Liz. She made me a Sharing Thanks Journal. I love her heart design and the picture of us she printed to adorn the inside of this very special journal. The best gift of all was that we used the journal together to practice gratitude. She wrote the first entry listing four things she was thankful for and passed the journal back to me. We use the journal to share what we are thankful for. It has helped me practice gratitude and has helped me and my daughter connect on a deeper level. It is wonderful to have a dialogue where we share our blessings. I love writing my thanks and sharing what brings me joy. It could be a beautiful sunset, or a kind smile a stranger gave me. I love learning about what my daughter is thankful for. Thankful for Chihuly's impressionistic water reflections at New York Botanical Gardens

I love sharing beautiful spaces with fellow friends who appreciate the impact of art fused with nature. So thankful to my friend Liz who invited me to go see the current Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens. I loved how Chihuly's pieces enhanced the beauty of the main greenhouse exhibits. We were blessed with a crisp fall day with blue skies. I took this video to capture the wave of colors undulating that looked like painter's brush strokes in the water. Below is the glass work that made these beautiful reflections. If you live in the New York area I recommend you go to the New York Botanical Gardens to enjoy this artist's brilliant work. The NYBG also has some fun fall displays. My friend and I enjoyed posing with pumpkin man.
