Sharing Thanks for groundhog day!

The groundhogs had mixed reports about how far away Spring is. I get a kick out of groundhog day, and the joy people get from watching a groundhog come out to see if it sees it shadow! Groundhog Day the movie is one of my favorite comedy films.It feels like it has been Spring this week already. Had fun taking a few pictures while my daughter and I were shopping for some fun craft supplies at Michaels. I do get a lot of joy capturing small snapshots of beauty. It feeds my creative spirit. Here are my thanks for today.

1) Thanks to Sara from Mommafindings.com and Lisa from Momma Says who took the time to check out my blog today. I enjoy reading other Mom Blogs and Mommafindings.com started a series on blogging that was very helpful to me. Part of the joy of starting something new is learning from kind mentors.

2) Thanks to Pinterest.com! I have been enjoying pinning great pictures and links that I find on the web. Tonight I cooked a cheesy zucchini casserole that I found on Pinterest.com. It was delicious and healthy and I admit I love zucchini.

3) Thanks to Liz's Physical Therapist, Peter today Liz was walking better with her sprained ankle. So happy to see Liz walk out of school smiling today. We enjoyed finding some fun craft supplies at Michaels after school.

4) Thanks for guilty pleasures. I was catching up watching Desperate Housewives tonight. That show still makes me laugh.

      Awww. I love our friendship! We get to share so many cool experiences together. So happy we are in orchestra together. It's funny, as I am typing my reply to you UMass Alumni just called. You are so creative and a wonderful friend!

Create a Sharing Thanks Journal with someone to cultivate a Grateful Heart

    I am very thankful for this very special Christmas gift given to me by my daughter Liz. She made me a Sharing Thanks Journal. I love her heart design and the picture of us she printed to adorn the inside of this very special journal. The best gift of all was that we used the journal together to practice gratitude. She wrote the first entry listing four things she was thankful for and passed the journal back to me. We use the journal to share what we are thankful for. It has helped me practice gratitude and has helped me and my daughter connect on a deeper level. It is wonderful to have a dialogue where we share our blessings. I love writing my thanks and sharing what brings me joy. It could be a beautiful sunset, or a kind smile a stranger gave me. I love learning about what my daughter is thankful for. Thankful for Chihuly's impressionistic water reflections at New York Botanical Gardens

I love sharing beautiful spaces with fellow friends who appreciate the impact of art fused with nature. So thankful to my friend Liz who invited me to go see the current Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens. I loved how Chihuly's pieces enhanced the beauty of the main greenhouse exhibits. We were blessed with a crisp fall day with blue skies. I took this video to capture the wave of colors undulating that looked like painter's brush strokes in the water. Below is the glass work that made these beautiful reflections. If you live in the New York area I recommend you go to the New York Botanical Gardens to enjoy this artist's brilliant work. The NYBG also has some fun fall displays. My friend and I enjoyed posing with pumpkin man.
